When I was eight years old, I discovered a riding stable around the corner from my father's home in Hamburg, Germany. I begged him to let me take lessons and from that first lesson, I was hooked! I continued riding through my teen years when my mother relocated to Menlo Park.
As a mother, I put my sport on hold when my oldest daughter, Sonja, discovered a love for ballet and my son Erik, was interested in baseball and other sports. So when my youngest daughter, Alexis, was only theree years old, I decided to share my love of horses with her.
After Alexis graduated from college, my friend Ann Meleyco, encouraged me to get back into riding. It was time to buy a horse for myself and I found exactly what I was looking for in her backyard! Ann had purchased "Patrizia", a year earlier for her hunter breeding program. "Patrizia", now a nine year old Hanoverian mare by "Pointmaker", was successfully shown in the Hanoverian breed shows by her first owner. She was bred to "Domiro" and has a lovely chestnut filly named "Delilah".
Carol, thank you for everything you have already accomplished with "Patrizia". I am thrilled to be back in your barn, not just as a mom, but as your student.

Addie, Fergie, and I came to Melodic Farms this spring. It’s a pretty big deal changing stables and trainers, and like any mother, I tortured myself wondering if I was doing the right thing. I love my girls! Well, it’s turned out to be a phenomenal move. My girls are so happy and they even knicker to me now when I come see them! In addition to them settling into this new and beautiful environment so well, their performance is improving exponentially. Less timidity, more confidence and pride in competition. This is the way it’s supposed to be! The positive, low pressure interactions with the staff contribute to the overall quality experience we have at Melodic Farms. Everyone is so helpful and communicative that I know I’m doing everything I need to help my horses get the great training experience they deserve. We are all three very, very happy to be here and look forward to seeing how far we can go.

I jumped my first horse over a fallen tree when I was 8 years old, and that was it, I was hooked on jumping! I've always wanted to "go bigger" and with Carol Wright, I've FINALLY been able to. I feel so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful barn, surrounded by supportive people. This year is promising to be a good one with my new horse, Dream. I'll get to go up a level and I'm so excited to get showing. See you there!

As a long time student of Carol, I Tracy Wheelock am very ecstactic for yet another year with her. As a junior Carol led me to qualify for the Onodarka finals as well as numerous jumper ring wins. Now, more than ever I look forward to year full of achievement with my young, upcoming jumper First Frost, a 7 year old dutch warmblood. First Frost, or Lexie had a late and slow start in her beginning but has surpassed my expectations beyond belief. She has come from a skinny, malnourished pasture ornament to a wholehearted athlete. She is kind hearted and will jump anything. I am very excited to see what this year may bring us in the jumper ring.

Hello my name is Alexis and I am 10 years old and I've been riding with Carol for 2 years because of my mom. I look up to Carol as a special person to me because she helps me with my riding and that's very important to me. I love to ride there because of the things she teaches me and the lessons on my pony she gives me. Carol maks sure that I have a horse to ride in something important like when the Julie Winkel Clinic was going on I couldn't bring my pony so Carol let me use one of her ponies named Ruby and I thought that was very generous and that is another reason I love Carol and Melodic Farms, my barn. The people are really nice and make it fun to ride there. I cant wait to learn more and show in the big jumper classes like Carol and Auntie Leslie.

I swear riding runs through my veins. When I was six I rode a horse for the first time. From then on I haven't been able to stop. Riding is like a little taste of heaven. If I wasn't riding, I was taking pictures of horses, working horse summer camps, or even watching them graze while I drove by in the car. My sudden like in showing, sure did turn out fun. I started at SAHJA shows last year and I hope to be showing at rated shows this up coming season. Im always determined to become a better rider and Im positive Carol will help me through it. Till then you can always find my riding with a smile on my face and loving on the horses with all my friends here at Melodic! (:

I started riding at a prime age of 41! My daughter, Sabrina, asked to take horseback riding lessons, so I though it would be fun to join her. Funny thing is it turned out I had a hidden love and passion for horses. Having no riding experience, I didn't know where this passion would take me. I ended up purchasing an amazing Selle Francais, named Digger (Cassanova). Digger loves to jump, so I decided to start jumping. I moved to Melodic Farms in the Summer or 2011. Carol is amazing in her knowledge and what she teaches me each week. She quickly has helped me feel confident in jumping all sorts of jumps: verticals, gymnastics, and oxers. I keep loving this sport, my horse, and every opportunity I have to ride.

I started taking horseback riding lessons when I was 7 years old. When I was 8, as a Christmas present, I got my first pony, Roxy. With Roxy, we both learned to jump, and we developed a loving and trusting bond. She helped me progress in my riding, achieving short stirrup champion at numerous shows. I moved to Melodic Farms in the Summer of 2011. Since I outgrew my pony, Carol started me jumping horses. Carol has given me lots of knowledge and skill in riding horses. After being in the hunter ring for the past several years, I have progressed to the Jumper ring. I look forward to the next show season with Carol.

Hi, my name is Julia and I have been riding for two years now. I just recently moved to Melodic Farms, and I’m so glad I did! I love riding there, the horses are great, and I’m looking forward to leasing my first pony. I am learning to jump in my lessons and its super fun! Someday, I want to jump really big jumps like Leslie and Carol. I can’t wait to start riding in horse shows this year too. Horses are the most amazing animals and I love them all!
