ABOUT CAROL

Carol started showing Morgan horses at the age of two at her her parent’s breeding farm, Melodic Morgans.  At age ten, she was Reserve Champion in the AHSA Morgan Jr. Medal finals at 3’6”.  By age eleven, Carol started riding at the Pacific Horse Center (now Brookside Equestrian Center) with Twiggy Langer. In the same year, she won her first Junior Hunter Championship on her horse Specialty. Throughout her junior riding career Carol competed in the hunters, equitation and jumpers. She made her first appearance in the Grand Prix ring at age 19. In 1991, she won her first World Cup Qualifier, a $50,000 class in Los Angeles.

Qualified  and competed on the Hanoverian stallion Ragtime in the Regular Working Hunters during the 2004 Indoors circuit

She is also shown in many Young Jumper Championships and International Hunter Futurities. Currently, Carol is riding and training at her own farm, Melodic Farms, but has ridden for Sue Lightner of Lightacres and Gry McFarlane of WindFall Farm Inc. Carol's deep passion for horses and teaching has helped to bring her to where she is today.

TRAINING

We offer full training, half training, and lesson programs for all levels, budgets and ages. Please contact us for a more detailed list of services and fees.

Horses are worked 5 days a week and turned out on Sundays and Mondays. Our programs include board, group and private lessons, trainer rides, turnouts, shows clips, blanketing, etc. We attend Sacramento area schooling shows , AA, A and B circuit shows throughtout the West Coast and Spruce Meadows, Canada. Carol aims to attend one to two rated shows per month.

The facility is situated on 20 acres. Our amenities include outdoor and indoor jumping arenas, a large riding field with a bank and ditch, a 6 horse equicizer with various speeds, two barns with 12' x 12' and 12' x 16' stalls, wash racks with hot and cold water and a laundry room with a working toilet, sink, and shower.
